Babette's Corner: A Thanksgiving Feast

    Since the holiday season is now upon us, I thought I would share with you my Thanksgiving dinner at the Church of the Common Ground (a spiritual community for the homeless located in Atlanta.)  The Church of the Common Ground is my favorite charity and the one where I spend most of my time.  For these folks,  Thanksgiving is one of the most important days in the entire year.  A lot of work goes into preparing the tasty dinner: from cooking the turkey to slicing the pumpkin pie. 

    I would like to say that I actually cooked the forty plus meals, but instead I had the pleasure of serving them all to these very deserving individuals.  I loved giving them that feeling as if they were eating in a nice restaurant or at their own homes. Many of the homeless do not have the luxury to be able to go into a nice restaurant and have a filling meal, but today was it was their turn and I’m happy that I got to be a part of their Thanksgiving feast.
