Jack Johnson Provides Uniforms to a Tanzania School

As I was browsing the internet today I came accross a nice thing that singer Jack Johnson did recently.  With very few public schools in Tanzania and the high cost of education in that country, it is very difficult for families to give their children the opportunity to get a proper education.  So, to help aid the financial burden, singer Jack Johnson donated uniforms for every student to an all girls boarding school in Tanzania.

Children who want to go to school have to travel long distances to Pahi where they have to find someone who will board them while they are in school. Johnson was touched by the generousity of the Tanner and Grounds families who have built 60 dorm rooms for the girls to live and study their assignments. Today there are 230 girls that live in the dorms with no charge and are empowering their minds to become successful women.  With so much negative attention that celebrties receive in the media, it is nice to see quiet, humble gestures such as this where someone reaches out to make the lives of other people better.

Jack donated the t-shirts seen below the girls at the boarding are calling them the new "Jack Johnson uniform."
