Before founding LoCo+, Kate served as the founding Executive Director of ChooseATL, an initiative out of the Metro Atlanta Chamber launched to promote Atlanta to millennials around the globe. Under Kate's leadership, ChooseATL evolved to become a next-generation movement advancing Atlanta as a top-tier location for emerging tech and creative talent. Her work landed headlines in Forbes, Adweek, and Variety magazine. In 2018, Kate's vision led to the creation and launch of the first-ever public city-based video streaming platform called THEA.  It was through her journey with THEA that she was inspired to create LoCo+.

At 23, Kate founded Kate's Club, a nationally acclaimed organization that empowers children and teens who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. Kate's Club serves thousands of children and families annually through direct services, strategic outreach partnerships, and national advocacy efforts.  Its unique approach to grief support has garnered the attention of national media and has helped reframe grief culture to be one of openness and support for the next generation. Kate remains involved today as its Founder and Advisory Board chair.
